Synopsis:
Tash is a new mom and a freelance journalist. When she learns of a young nanny who was found dead under mysterious circumstances, she is determined to learn more.

She befriends the group of mothers including the mom that employed the dead nanny. The women are sleek and sophisticated, and they love her son. They’re also the kind of women that Tash dreams of being.

When another woman is found dead, its clear to Tash that there is more to this group than meets the eye. Tash begins to wonder if these women are really her friends, or is there a different reason they befriended her so quickly? Who exactly is investigating who?

Thoughts:
I love a good domestic thriller and this one did not disappoint; it was so much fun! I listened to this one thanks to @simon.audio and really enjoyed it. The narrators both did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

I loved that this book centered around a nanny’s death and a tight knit group of friends. The multiple viewpoints and timelines kept me on the edge of my seat, wanting for more. Friendship dynamics are always so fascinating to me, and this book was a lot of fun in that regard because we got to see how this group dynamic worked. None of the characters were very likeable, so the plot is what kept things moving along nicely.

The pacing was wonderful on this book. I found myself never having time to get bored, or for my mind to wander, it was perfect. It wasn’t overwhelmingly fast, but it wasn’t slow either, just perfect. Even though the pacing was wonderful, I would still classify this one as a slow burn as it took a while to build things up and be revealed.

The ending of this one was just amazing; it was so shocking and entertaining. It was on the ambiguous side, but I think that it worked out nicely for how the book was set up. I loved reflecting back on all the breadcrumbs that were left along the way leading up to the big reveal; that is always an ah-ha moment for me. There were some smaller twists earlier in the book that were enjoyable as well.
