Synopsis
Five years ago, Charlotte was left at the alter by her fiancé Brighton. She’s been struggling to get by and is excited to get away for the holidays and visit her friends family in a small town of Colorado. However, when she arrives she learns that her friends sister invited a friend…and that friend ends up being Brighton.
Can the two fake not knowing each other over the vacation?
Thoughts:
Second chance romance is a hard one for me because I get to a point and I’m done, done. But this story showed how much the characters grew over the years before getting back together, and it was nice. I think that is the only way a second chance romance will work, you have to put in work, and come out a better person, and that is exactly what these characters did. I loved getting to know both Brighton and Charlotte. They weren’t perfect characters, but they worked well together. The chemistry between them was fantastic and I felt it through the pages. The dual POV was nice and one of my favorite ways to engage in a story. This book is heavier than I expected in a few regards. I went into it expecting a light and fluffy Christmas romcom, and while it was a Christmas romcom it dealt with some heavy topics. I think the author did a nice job of taking them out and making them palatable for a Christmas themed romcom which I enjoyed. I loved the small town setting, it felt so cozy and full of cheer which was perfect for the season. The narration on the audiobook was great and I feel that the narrator really helped bring the characters to life in a meaningful way.
If you’re looking for a delightful Christmas themed romance, then look no further.
