Overall Take:
Fun romance focusing on F1 racing
Star Rating:
4 Stars
Genre:
Sports romance
Synopsis:
Dev is an F1 racer and finds his job on the line after a social media disaster. Enter his best friend’s little sister who can save the day, Willow. Willow needs a job, and she’s great at seeing the bright side of things. So, Dev offers her a job, and she accepts despite having a huge crush on him.
While they’re determined to keep things professional, old feelings start to surface…maybe some lines are meant to be crossed.
Thoughts:
This was my first F1 romance and it was cute. I really enjoyed the disability rep and as someone who is hypermobile, I found it relatable. I also loved Willow and Dev together. Their chemistry just oozed off the page right from the start! It was great. I listened to this one and I could just hear it, the narrators did such a fantastic job bringing this to life. Dev was a little insufferable at the beginning though, but that did pass (thankfully) and he improved as a character. I do wish that we would have got more of the back story between Willow and Dev because it did feel insta-love, maybe a bit too much. The F1 aspect was a lot of fun. I’d never read an F1 romance before, so it was a welcome treat, I enjoyed learning about this sport that I don’t know much about. Things did slow down for me after a while, I felt the pacing was off a little bit. For being over 400 pages, I think that it should have stayed fast paced throughout to hold my interest as I found my mind wandering. The side characters were also a lot of fun. I think that they added a lot to the story and really helped round it out nicely.
