As they navigate the challenges of the simulation, including swim lessons, helicopter flights, and unexpected emotions, Brianna must decide between her dedication to the school and the growing feelings she has for Roman, who she suspects may be hiding something.
Thoughts:
I recently read this book, and while it was alright, it wasn’t my favorite. I have to say, I admired Brianna Rogers’ determination and passion when she decided to join the Mars simulation team after the principal rescinded his approval for the library upgrade. I could feel her frustration and anger, which made her decision to take action relatable and inspiring. The Mars simulation setting added a unique twist to the story, and I enjoyed the creativity behind it.
Roman, the science teacher and son of the principal, brought an interesting dynamic to the plot. Their hot and cold relationship kept me intrigued, and I found myself rooting for them to work through their differences. The tension and chemistry between Brianna and Roman added excitement to the story, and I appreciated how Roman eventually proved himself to be a dedicated teammate.
However, there were a few aspects I didn’t enjoy as much. At times, the plot felt a bit predictable, and I wished there had been more unexpected twists to keep me on the edge of my seat. Additionally, some of the supporting characters could have been more developed to add depth to the story.
Overall, the book had its moments of excitement and charm, and I appreciated the themes of dedication, teamwork, and facing challenges head-on. The unique Mars simulation setting and the chemistry between the main characters definitely made it worth the read.
