Synopsis
Tess Rosenbloom, a survivor of assault and grad school dropout, finds solace in managing a chic Brooklyn hotel and immersing herself in her favorite vampire novels, Blood Feud. Though she entertains online conspiracies about the novels being real, she never truly believes in vampires until one walks through her door. Discovering that Blood Feud is real, Tess agrees to help rescue the trapped villain of the novels, leading her to a secret island of lavish palaces and enchanted forests, where the sun never shines and vampires lurk. As Tess navigates this dangerous world and falls for one of the vampires, she must confront her past and decide if risking her heart is worth reclaiming her future, all while her estranged best friend embarks on her own romantic vampire adventure back in New York.
Thoughts:
I was absolutely enthralled by Tess’s journey in this book! As a fan of vampire novels myself, I totally related to Tess’s late-night binges on Blood Feud and her playful dabbling in online conspiracies. When I read that she didn’t truly believe in vampires until one walked through her door, I was hooked! The way the story wove Tess’s dark past with the fantastical elements of Blood Feud felt so seamless and captivating. I loved the idea of being whisked away to a secret island filled with lavish palaces, enchanted forests, and, of course, thirsty vampires. Tess’s mission to help rescue the trapped villain was both thrilling and romantic—I couldn’t put the book down! This book was a delightful mix of dark glamour, romance, and adventure. I found myself rooting for Tess as she faced both the demons of her past and the vampires of her present. It was a fantastic reminder that even in the darkest times, love and courage can light the way.
