Synopsis
Valerie is pining for a comeback of her band, the Glitter Bats. She’s trying to get a media make over and needs the band to help her. She assembles everyone to put on one more concert. The band hasn’t spoken in six years, but she’s determined. Valerie personally shows up on Caleb’s doorstep pleading for help. He accepts her proposal and at the same times agrees to fake date her – for the press. But things are all glamorous and the band must stick together in order to pull the reunion off, can they do it or will they implode again?
Thoughts:
This was a fun second chance romance book. I have been reading a lot of second chance romances lately, which is new for me. I am finding that seeing how people have grown and evolved since breaking up in the past and how they come together again is a lot of fun. In this case the author did a good job of explaining how both the characters had evolved since their split. It was well done. I listened to this one on audio and think the narrators did a great job. They really brought the characters to life and made them feel real. The characters in this book are young and some of their decisions reflect their inexperience. It was reflective to read about and frustrating at times, but not in a bad way. It was amusing. The premise of the characters being in a band was a lot of fun and reading how they survived the entertainment industry was entertaining. There was so much pressure on them to survive and so many people wanted them to fail, but they did fantastic and persevered.
