Synopsis
Chaos and routine, those opposites are what Gus and Teddy are. But together they might just work, if they can get over hating each other.
When Gus is in a bind, the only person that can hep him is his little sister’s best friend, Teddy. While he’s not happy about it, he’s out of options.
Tempers flare, tension builds, and eventually Teddy and Gus start to see each other in a different light. As these feelings simmer, the two must decide if they want to act on them.
Thoughts:
The single dad / nanny trope can be so much fun. It isn’t one that I seek out, I would say I wade with caution, and when I do read it, I have fun with it. That was the case here. I think I get hung up on the age different that can come along with the trope, but that wasn’t seen here because they two were actually acquaintances around the same age, prior to working for each other. In fact, Teddy knows Gus’s daughter very well. The banter between Teddy and Gus was so funny, it had me in stitches. It always just hits right with enemies to lovers, and one of the main reasons I enjoy this trope. Teddy and Gus talk to each other how my husband and I talk to each other sometimes and that was fun for me. There is some spice in this book, and it is well done. I enjoyed how hot it was while still being tender and sweet. Very well done. The overall writing is just well done as well. I felt like I was right there with the characters experiencing things with them along the way. It was fantastic. The pacing is nice, it felt natural and not forced. I would put it somewhere on the medium, maybe medium fast scale of things. It held my interest, and I was engaged, I didn’t get lost for it being too fast, and my mind didn’t wander because it was too slow. I read this book as a stand alone and didn’t miss anything from the series until the epilogue.
I listened to this one as an audiobook and it was amazing. The narrators brought the story to life in such a fantastic way. The author even does a clip at the beginning which was fun. I loved the dual narrators for both Teddy and Gus.
