Thoughts:
C.J. Tudor’s a favorite author of mine. She writes amazing books, and I am working my way through her backlist. This book was eerily dark and creepy, and it grabbed my interest from the get-go.
I loved that in this case, it was the dad that was out searching for his daughter because he thought he saw her. Now he’s on a mission because he’s certain she is still alive. I think that all too often it is the mothers with intuition about children, and not much credit is given between the bond between the father and child. Yes, the bond between mother and child is special, but so is that between father and child and it was nice to see it highlighted.
I think that Ms. Tudor has done a unique job of slicing out a niche for herself, and it isn’t clearly defined by a particular genre. She always writes a little bit of horror, and a little of thriller, but always a little paranormal, and I’m always here for it.
I can’t wait to continue going through the backlist, and I don’t have many left. I’m excited.
