Thoughts:
This is one of those books that you have to be able to suspend a lot of belief in order to enjoy it, but if you can do that, it is a fun story. I did think that there was a pretty low expectation of men in the book, and that was a disappointing in this day and age, so it did take away from my enjoyment a little. I did enjoy the rest of the story once we got past this portion of the story, it’s a twisty story and quite the wild ride. The pacing of this one is rather quick, which was needed in order to be able to suspend belief of the details. The character development isn’t especially deep, but this is more of a plot-based novel not a character driven, so it’s too be expected.
I think for a debut this is a great book. There is a solid foundation, and the author knows how to write twists and turns that are shocking. I think their future works are not to be missed and will only be more refined, which I’m excited for. This isn’t an author that you’ll want to miss.
